Abby Reese, LSW
I am a Licensed Social Worker specializing in eating disorders, body image, substance use, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, relationships, and OCD. I enjoy guiding teens and adults toward holistic healing and self discovery. I offer a safe haven for those navigating life’s most intricate challenges. As a practitioner deeply rooted in humanistic and psychodynamic perspectives, I believe in the inherent worth and potential for growth within each individual.
I view individual, couples, and family therapy as a collaborative journey of self-exploration and discovery, guiding clients toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and fulfillment. I utilize a diverse range of therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. From cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), polyvagal theory, and mindfulness, I integrate evidence-based interventions to foster healing and empowerment. Through collaborative exploration and skill-building, clients learn to navigate challenges with resilience and develop healthy coping strategies.
Experience: I have several years of experience conducting group, individual, couples, and family therapy with teens and adults in substance use and eating disorder treatment settings. I currently serve as a primary therapist at the Eating Recovery Center in the adult intensive treatment unit, residential, and PHP programs. I enjoy helping individuals and their families navigate struggles with eating disorders, body image and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. In addition, I am trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT), a cognitive-behavioral therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, and related conditions.
