August is Wellness Month

August is wellness month! This is a great opportunity for us to take a step in promoting wellness in ourselves and others. Prioritizing wellness of our minds, bodies, and souls is incredibly important. Unfortunately, we don’t always make health and wellness a priority because life gets in the way. Let’s use August as an opportunity to recharge and recenter ourselves. Here are some resources and tips. You can learn more at wellnessmonth.com.

Tips:

  • Take the wellness pledge. Make a commitment to yourself to prioritize wellness.

  • Make self-care a priority by doing something for yourself on a daily basis.

  • Prioritize your physical health by scheduling a physical, you can even do it over telehealth.

  • Build connection by reaching out to a friend or family member.

  • Nourish yourself, find a new recipe or cooking class.

  • Take part in healthy movement, go for a walk, hike, or bike ride.

  • Practice mindfulness, slow down and be present in your experiences.

  • Do something kind for another person.

  • Practice financial wellness, address a financial concern that may be causing stress.

  • Practice occupational wellness, do something to feel better at work. This could be addressing an issue with a coworker, getting organized, or checking something off of your to do list.
